2. Use
- After use, you must return the bike to one of the Farte Bysykkel’s parking zones. To end the rental, both the bike and the mobile phone with the active rental must be within a parking zone. You can then end the rental via the app. You must wait until you have received a receipt for the end of the trip in the app before leaving the bike.
- It is not permitted to have more than one person on the bike at a time.
- The bicycle basket can carry a maximum load of 10 kg.
- If the bike is used as a work tool in connection with paid work, such as courier services or deliveries, this is at the renter’s own risk, and TFK disclaims any direct or indirect liability resulting from such use.
- If you leave the bike during the rental period, e.g., if you go to a shop or visit a tourist attraction, you must ensure it is securely locked via the app. Remember that you continue to pay rent for the bike even if you lock it temporarily outside the parking zones. The rental can only be ended within one of the Farte Bysykkel parking zones.
3. Your Responsibility
- You are personally responsible for the city bike from the moment you activate the rental until you end the rental within one of the Farte Bysykkel’s parking zones and have received a receipt for the completed rental in the app. For this reason, you should not lend the bike or your user account to others. If you wish to have insurance, the individual renter must arrange this themselves.
- When cycling, you are considered a driver. This means that you are generally required to follow the same rules as other drivers when using the city bikes. You are responsible for complying with traffic rules and for not creating dangerous or difficult situations for other road users. It is not permitted to use Farte Bysykkel while under the influence of drugs. You are personally responsible if you cause injury to yourself or others when using the bike. We recommend that you wear a bicycle helmet.
- You may be held liable for damages you cause to equipment, property, or persons, in accordance with Norwegian liability law. In the event of damage to property or belongings, contact your own insurance company. TFK is not directly or indirectly liable for damages caused by the use of the city bike.
- All bicycles are frequently controlled and maintained. However, it may still be possible to find a defective bike in a parking zone. You are responsible for checking that the bike is intact and in proper condition, and that the brakes are functioning before using the city bike.
- You must immediately notify Farte customer service via the app or through the website if you discover significant damage or faults with the bike. If you end the rental of a damaged bike within a parking zone within 1 minute from the start of the rental, the rental cost will be automatically refunded.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your mobile phone has sufficient battery and mobile data to operate the app during the rental period. If you lose your phone or it is stolen while the bike is in use, report this to our customer service center.
- TFK can end the rental period at any time, if we have reason to assume that you no longer wish to rent despite the rental not being terminated correctly, or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you are not taking sufficient care on the bike, or that you violate the Terms and conditions.
- If the rental is not properly ended within a parking zone and the operator must retrieve the bike, you will be charged a retrieval fee. The amount of the retrieval fee is shown in the price list here.
4. Lost or Damaged Bike
- If something unforeseen occurs, including an accident or loss of the bike, you are required to contact Farte Bysykkel’s customer service center as soon as the incident is discovered.
- If you act irresponsibly and lose or damage the bicycle, you may be liable. Guardians are responsible for any liability caused by persons under the age of 18 years according to the rules in the Compensation for Damages Act.
- If the bike is left unlocked when you leave it, you are liable if it is stolen. You must immediately report the theft to Farte Bysykkel’s customer service center via the app or the contact form on the Farte Bysykkel website.
- If the bike is vandalised, the incident will be reported to the police.
- You are required to cooperate with TFK in completing any police report if necessary.
5. Privacy
-
When renting a Farte Bysykkel, TFK will process personal data about you. See the privacy statement at farte.no/bysykkel/personvern.
