At Weelz E-Bike Rentals we care about your safety and the safety of others on the road. Please
take a moment to review the following safety guidelines before using our e-bikes. These
guidelines are designed to ensure that you have a safe, enjoyable, and responsible experience
while riding.
1. Wear a Helmet
• Always wear a helmet while riding an e-bike. Helmets reduce the risk of injury in case of
an accident and are required by law in some areas.
• If your helmet is damaged, replace it immediately before riding again.
2. Check the E-Bike Before Riding
• Inspect the bike: Ensure that the e-bike is in good condition before use. Check the tires
for proper inflation, ensure the brakes are working, and verify that the lights and battery
are functional.
• Report any issues: If you notice any mechanical issues or damage, please report it
immediately via the App to ensure safety for future users.
3. Know the Local Traffic Laws
• Familiarize yourself with local traffic laws and regulations. Obey all traffic signs, signals,
and rules of the road.
• In some areas, cycling on certain roads or streets may be prohibited. Always look for
bike-friendly paths and respect local laws regarding e-bike usage.
4. Ride Responsibly
• Speed Limits: Do not exceed the speed limit. While e-bikes are faster than traditional
bikes, maintaining control and staying within a reasonable speed is critical for your
safety.
• Keep a safe distance: Maintain a safe distance from other cyclists, pedestrians, and
vehicles.
• Use hand signals: Always signal your turns, lane changes, and stops to other road users.
This improves communication and reduces the chance of accidents.
• Avoid distractions: Do not use your phone or other devices while riding unless it is
absolutely necessary. Keep both hands on the handlebars at all times.
5. Be Cautious in Traffic
• Stay in bike lanes: Whenever possible, ride in designated bike lanes. If no bike lane is
available, ride on the road, but be cautious of motor vehicles.
• Yield to pedestrians: Always give right of way to pedestrians and slow down when
approaching crosswalks.
• Visibility: Ensure you are visible to others, especially at night or in low-light conditions.
Use the e-bike’s lights, and wear reflective gear if possible.
6. Avoid Riding Under the Influence
• Never ride an e-bike under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substances that may
impair your judgment or motor skills.
• Riding while impaired significantly increases the risk of accidents and injuries.
7. Ride Within Your Skill Level
• E-bikes can be powerful, so it’s important to ride according to your experience and
comfort level. If you are new to e-bikes or cycling in general, start slowly and familiarize
yourself with the controls.
• Avoid performing stunts, sharp maneuvers, or any risky behavior that could endanger you
or others.
8. Weather Considerations
• Rain or Wet Conditions: Avoid riding in heavy rain or on slippery surfaces, as this
increases the risk of accidents. If you must ride in rain, reduce your speed and be extra
cautious.
• Windy Conditions: Strong winds can make it harder to control the e-bike. If you are
riding in windy conditions, maintain a steady grip on the handlebars and adjust your
speed.
9. Return the Bike Safely
• When you finish your ride, ensure that you park the e-bike in a designated area. Do not
block walkways, doorways, or other public spaces.
• Check that the bike is properly locked and secured before ending your rental through the
App.
10. In Case of Emergency
• If you are involved in an accident or witness one, call the local emergency services
immediately (Dial 911 in the Bahamas) for assistance.
• Report the incident to Weelz E-Bike Rentals through the App so we can follow up and
ensure the safety of our equipment.
11. Important Reminders
• Always make sure the e-bike is securely locked when you are not using it.
• Never allow someone else to use the bike under your rental agreement.
• If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe at any point while riding, find a safe place to stop,
assess the situation, and take appropriate action.
